Rotary Satellite E-Club of the Baobab, is a community-based organization, whose aim is to unite community members in pursuit of sharing ideas, solving problems and effecting constructive and essential change within the communities and society at large. Driven by the ethos of “Doing good in the World” The Rotary Foundation was established in Chicago, Illinois, United States on the 23rd of February 1905 under the leadership of Arch C. Klumph. Since then, the foundation has grown to 35000 club members across the globe, with 1.2 million individuals known as Ratorians. One amongst the Clubs is the Rotary Satellite e-Club of the Baobab, which is based in Limpopo, South Africa.
On the 17th of June 2021, Chairman of the Rotary Satellite e-Club of the Baobab, Grant Daly hosted a virtual ceremony, where yet more innovative and ingenious members of the community were inducted in the club. Amongst the new Rotarians inducted on Thursday is our very own Moithumi Mashiane, Optometrist and Iridologist based in Polokwane, Limpopo.
The Rotary Satelllite E-Club of the Baobab has a long tradition of service to the community, and each member, old and new, is very proud of this achievement. Daly, also commended the club for great aspirations of generating more new members from Limpopo and beyond.
Asked about her ambitions for the district under which she will be serving a newly inducted Ratorian, Moithumi Mashiane said “This is one of the few social responsibilities that we are currently involved in. Rotary sets a platform to reach out to all the needy across the world. It helps with forming partnerships with other charitable organizations across the world. The world is one. Let race and nationality not set boundaries to extend a helping hand towards the less fortunate
